About me

biography

Piotr Rubik was born on the third spin of the Earth for September of 1968 in Warsaw. As the Earth relentlessly continued spinning, a juvenile Piotr experimented with the best ways to pass the days. He found the massive cello intriguing, like poetry given flowing form—and the sustained “boom” of dragging a bow across the strings was intoxicating. Something he could feel in his bones. His fascination (and his parents) brought him first to Emil Mlynarski primary musical school in Warsaw, then to Karol Szymanowski secondary school in Warsaw. Emil and Karol’s contributions were clearly of value because Piotr finally achieved sufficient aptitude with his partner of warped wood, taut spun metals, and flaxen flexed follicles of horse to enter the Fryderyk Chopin Music Academy, also in Warsaw (notice the pattern?).

Now, able to take on anyone in a no holds barred cello showdown, he collaborated with many well-known orchestras, including World Orchestra Jeunesses Musicales and Sinfonia Varsovia. But, that wasn’t enough for the young whipper-snapper. He had been born with just enough healthy megalomania to achieve any goal he set his mind to, and he had his mind set on composing the music himself. As an artist, he collaborated with many outstanding artists by composing for them, conducting orchestras, and/or by accompanying as an ivory-tickler on piano.

As a music producer, he released more than 30 albums for many accomplished artists. His first hit was Dotyk performed by Edyta Gorniak. Many young men have specific approaches when it comes to scoring, Piotr took his scoring to the big screen, composing scores for films like, „Ja wam pokażę” and „Ryś”.

Popular Polish films like, „Quo vadis” and „Zemsta”, use his compositions for promotional materials. He’s also produced theme music for both television and radio—„Wiadomości”, „Tomasz Lis na żywo”, established the signature sound for the first channel of Polish Radio. His star on the rise with fans, he started doubling-down, composing smash-hit oratorios like „Tu es Petrus” and „September Psalter”. Two of his best-selling compositions—„Let Them Say it is not Love” (acclaimed, Best Polish Song of All Time, by Radio Zet) and „Psalm for You” held the top spot on Polish hit parades and charts for weeks and weeks on end. His albums repeatedly rack up hundreds of thousands of sales upon release. Piotr Rubik has been honored and awarded many times over: 1st Place at the Festiwal Jedynki (Sopot, 2005), Super Jedynka for the Album of the Year and Super Super Jedynka for the Most Popular Artist (Wiktor, 2006), Telekamera 2007, 1st Place at the Top Trendy Festival 2007, Teraz Polska 2007, Róże Gali 2007,…

Feeling inspired and ambitious, Piotr moved to Miami (Florida, USA) in 2023 to begin his next phase of infecting the world with love, healing, and music. Prepare yourself for the evolving experience that’s unlike any other, The Rubik Experience: Coming soon to… the world!
